Hardcore flamenco with a psychedelic twist
Hello friends,
Above is my latest video, "Gloria a Tomás", a tribute to Tomás Pavón and Niño Gloria, great names of flamenco who left their print on this style from Jerez.
It's a traditional flamenco style called Bulerías por soleá, which are bulería melodies sung at a slower speed, like a lively soleá. Their characteristics are strong guitar playing, heavy compás and a certain flexibility in the structure of the singing.
I added a personal touch, with a choir of voices and with the guitar tuned to double drop D. This wouldn't be considered "pure flamenco" : it is flamenco "with an accent", made outside of Spain. Flamenco belongs to Andalucia and the Gitano people, but the passion for flamenco is a worldwide phenomenon.
I hope you will like it. Cheers.

And when this we rightly know
Thro the World we safely go
Joy & Woe are woven fine

Under every grief & pine
Runs a joy with silken twine"
